About us

About us

The League of Internationalist Communists is a group of workers who organise around and defend uncompromising communist politics. Our fundamental position is identified with the rejection of every form of class collaboration in favour of class war: permanent civil war against the capitalist class and its system, to be waged without compromise or restraint.

We are for communism—a global stateless, classless, moneyless society in which land, resources, and the instruments of work are held in common ownership by society and production is consciously organised and planned by the freely associated producers.

Only the advent of a world revolutionary movement led by workers to abolish capitalism and establish communism can realise the full emancipation of the human species from every form of exploitation and oppression and deliver humanity from the deadly impasse that capitalist civilisation imposes on it: extinction or radical transformation of society.

Politically, we draw from a broad swath of authentic communist groupings, traditions, and experiences, including the Italian and Dutch-German Communist Lefts, the Munis group in Spain & France, and internationalist anarchism (both contemporary and historical).

We are not, strictly speaking, a self-identified Marxist organisation. Rather, we are united by a common political perspective, which is distilled in our Points of Unity document. This perspective, though rooted firmly in Marx’s materialist methodology, and especially his critique of political economy, is not slavishly adherent to his political prescriptions.

Our immediate goals as an organisation are to regroup all those around the world who subscribe to genuine communist positions and aid others still coming to such positions in developing a more coherent political perspective through regular external discussions.

If our political project interests you, we suggest reading our Points of Unity and contacting us. We are happy to answer any questions you may have about us and our activity.
